No, ah, thank you so much. This is astronomically kind of you and lmao wow it’s so reassuring to know that some people appreciate this weird, specific way I watch this soap opera. Who knows. 

I DON’T EVEN KNOW IF I’M EMOTIONALLY INVESTED. I mean, I feel like I have to cry about this show to enter an emotional threshold, but then again I’m very invested in proper/at least consist narratives I don’t know. (There is still a part of me that would have been open to Mrs. Hughes dying of cancer but not in this season and would I still be watching the show without her we don’t know I’m sorry what am I saying.)

just for you anon, I spent a few minutes in ms paint 

this is it this is the total summation of my mary headcanon 

so like, the summation of them in series three, basically

1. “I’m not old” “Pls Mr. Carson you were around when Christ rose from the dead” 
2. carson had some pretty a+ faces  when he stormed off about frolicking prostitutes and mrs. hughes had that great flaunt out the door when he went on about her ~low standards (I could have done with that storyline reworked a bit but yeah good faces)
3. “this toaster is the spawn of the devil!!!!” 
4. actually in the church “I don’t know if I’m proud but I’m happy you’re happy” that’s a good moment
5. also doesn’t quite fit the bill but the “I’m going to call Lord Anthony Strallan whatever names I like and you’re going to roll with it” that was also a good moment

oh anon, I thought you’d never ask

1. moments one through five through fifteen are really that scene I know I mention a lot from the series two christmas special where she visibly shakes after fortune hunter shit hits the fan. and how mary can’t understand that level of sheer loneliness (at that point anyway) and how much rosamund wants to have someone in her life again. and mary can’t understand not being wanted in the way that rosamund does from years of widowhood. (like even her ‘all alone with a house in eton square’ mary doesn’t grasp that yet and so she doesn’t understand why her aunt is so shaken by this and why it’s really personally crushing) (this was going to be a mary headcanon somehow i’m sabotaging myself) 
2. um the fact that samantha bond is learning how to tango right for one of our s4 scenes is a+ I nominate that as an instant favourite 
3. the first scene we have of rosamund she has a really great coat. 
4. actually any rosamund appearance is marked by a+ fashion choices. 
5. I don’t actually remember rosamund scenes. she was good at the jazz club wasn’t she?? her scenes with lavinia and eavesdropping and wanting to tear her apart in general were also great. rosamund is just great in general. 

since downtonline went down (rest in peace), I was basically reduced to what I have on hand/what I’ve edited and forced through inhumanly high levels of contrast (why didn’t you stop me god) in the past: 

1. the i’m a fucking winner (is anyone else even playing this game???) face
2. the i’m getting a vision of the irish ghost of christmas future face
3. the ‘bitch please’ level are off the chart here like these are worthy of some fashion-related reality tv show 
4. the practising jungle book style hypnotism for the thousandth time (she can kind of widen her eyes to inhumane levels i wonder if she wins staring contests as often as she wins at wink murder) 
5. the idk i just keep this one in my drafts she looks like a very smug kitten here
